What is the price?

The scope and complexity of the job will determine the amount of our fee. That is why we have an initial meeting to discuss your plans and to determine the architectural drawings necessary. As an example, a simple room renovation will cost less than an addition to the structure. Our proposal will be detailed including all the steps necessary to give you the final drawings. Most residential projects are priced on a fixed-fee basis.

What about changes during construction?

Once we have completed the design drawings, our portion of the project is complete. If construction has begun and you find you need changes, we are happy to accommodate you for an additional fee. At the time we offer our proposal, we indicate what those charges might be.

What about a builder?

We are an architectural firm and do not do construction. However, our sister company, Highbridge Construction would be available for structural work like removing load-bearing walls, foundations, etc. There are also a number of fine construction companies. We recommend choosing one that is licensed in the city.

How long will it take to get the permits?

Simple projects take about 10 business days but larger projects run around 4 weeks to complete the process. Committee of Adjustment applications take as much as 4 or 5 months to complete.
